What 90 websites taught us

Praveen, Founder of Mevin

Since 2024, 266 people have signed up for Mevin and built over 90 websites. Personal sites, portfolios, blogs, and four businesses that run on it daily. Small numbers, real ones. Here's what they taught us.

First: people don't want to design. They want the design done. The sites that went live fastest were the ones where the owner described their idea, got something good back, and spent their time reacting. Every hour we spend making the first draft better beats ten more template choices.

Second: hand-editing is the point, not a backup. The busiest sites are the ones edited weekly by hand. A new post. A price change. A new photo. If those edits cost money, those sites would go quiet. Free editing is what keeps a website alive.

Third: businesses don't buy platforms. They buy results. Our business customers came with clear needs and budgets. One came from a $20,000 a year contract. What won them over wasn't a feature list. It was paying only for what they use, and a founder who answers.

That's the report. No inflated numbers. A product getting sharper with every website built on it. If you want to be one of the next 90, you know where the button is.
